CN Pick Five - Week Three

Every week CN's staff will pick the outcomes of five meaninful games in the world of college football. A running tab will be kept throughout the season and plan on guests pickers as well along the way. Check out this weeks picks right here at CN.

Jack Whitver – CN Ambassador/Former ISU Team Captain (10-0 on the season)

ISU @ Iowa - ISU makes it 7 out of 9, 24-21.

Michigan @ Notre Dame - Notre Dame continues to roll, Quinn lights up Michigan, 41-17

Miami @ Louisville - Miami speed too much for Cards 24-10

Nebraska @ USC - USC way too much for the Huskers, continue to chase another National Title, 31-13

LSU @ Auburn - LSU pulls off the upset, 20-17

Steve Deace – CN Founder (8-2 on the season)

Iowa State at Iowa - I unfortunately expect the Hawkeyes to use the emotion and home-crowd to jump on the Cyclones early and then hang on for a 28-21 victory.

Michigan at Notre Dame - This is a statement game for the Wolverines they've had circled for nine months.  They have the better defense, better running back, and better kicking game so they beat the Irish.

Miami at Louisville - I've gone back and forth on this game all week.

I'll take the Hurricanes because they traditionally rise to the challenge when their character is in question and they have a great record as an underdog.

Nebraska at USC - Both teams have some injury issues, but the Trojans are playing at home so they get the win.

LSU at Auburn - The Tigers -- both of them -- have looked great the first two weeks.  But we'll take the Tigers that are at home in a nip and tuck affair.

Chris Williams – CN Publisher (9-1 on the season)

Iowa State @ Iowa – I really like the Clones in this game. I feel like Drew Tate isn't as healthy as we think and I look for Todd Blythe to have over 100 receiving yards in a 27-24 win in Iowa City.

Michigan @ Notre DameMichigan and the best fight song in the country pull of the upset on the road. Michigan wins 20-17.

Miami @ Louisville – I like Miami in this one for two reasons. 1 – the Big East blows and 2 – they're Miami. Miami doesn't lose to Louisville. 24 – 20 Canes.

Nebraska @ USCNebraska gets humiliated on national television. USC is still one of the best teams in the country and they prove it on Saturday, 42-17 Trojans.

LSU @ Auburn – I'm going with the home team in this SEC showdown. Auburn 20 LSU 13.

Luke Vander Sanden – CN Ambassador/Former ISU Team Captain (9-1 on the season)

ISU @ Iowa State - I feel this game will be a nail biter.  Both teams seem to compare to each other in all facets of the game.  I look for this game to be won in the 4th quarter.  Iowa State wins 24-21.

Michigan @ Notre Dame - Notre Dame is now rolling.  Good luck to Llyod Carr and the Wolverines as Charlie Wies and the Irish take it to them in South Bend.  Wolverines win 28-10

Miami @ Louisville - Can't go wrong with Miami putting some points up.  Could be a close game, or it could get ugly early!  Miami wins this one, 31-10

Nebraska @ USC - Are the Huskers for real this year.  Wait, they really haven't had a division one game yet this year.  Good luck with USC's tradition, and good luck with USC's speed.  Pete Carrol and USC prove once again why they are a perennial power in college football.  USC 44, Neb 17

LSU @ Auburn - Wow!  Who to pick.  I like Auburn in this game.  Look for them to hold down the fort at home against a tough LSU squad...  Auburn 21, LSU 7

Brent Blum – CN Columnist (9-1 on the season)

ISU @ Iowa State - Iowa State. It's about time the lethal, lanky #1 had a big game. Cyclones attack the Hawk secondary and the ISU defense holds firm enough. ISU 27 Iowa 24

Michigan @ Notre Dame - Notre Dame. I think the Irish win comfortably. I really do. Notre Dame 31 Michigan 17

Miami @ Louisville - Louisville. Louisville, even without Michael Bush, has the most balanced attack in the game right now. Miami can't run the ball. I was taught at an early age, you have to run the football. Louisville 28 Miami 20

Nebraska @ USC –USC- Those that think Nebraska has a chance are delusional. USC has way too many athletes, they are at home, and Bill Callahan is on the other sideline. USC 45 Nebraska 21

LSU @ Auburn -Auburn- I'm a card-carrying member of the Kenny Irons for Heisman campaign. After Saturday, you will be to. He has a big night and Auburn cruises. Auburn 24 LSU 14

1st – Whitver @ 10-1

2nd (T) – Williams, Blum & Vander Sanden all at 9-1

5th – Deace @ 8-2
