Iowa Post Game: Austin Flynn

In Saturday's 27-17 loss to Iowa, senior WR Austin Flynn had three catches for 30 yards. In this CN post game interview, find out what Flynn had to say about everything from the big fourth down decision to Iowa State's lack of production in the 2nd half.

Q: What did you think about the call to go for it on 4th down?

A: I didn't see the replay but I guess he was short and we came up short, just like that play.

Q: Were you glad that you went for it on 4th down?

A: We needed something to happen and our defense gave us the ball with a great chance and the offense didn't do what they needed to do.

Q: Can you put your finger on something that's not working on offense?

A: The third down plays, we're just not executing and that's mainly my fault as a senior and as a guy who needs to step up on third down conversations. I put a lot of the blame on me, so we need to regroup and keep going.

Q: Did they do anything differently in the 2nd half than they did in the 1st?

A: They were a little different coverages. I'd have to look at tape. It was kind of a weird type of coverage that they were doing. The very end was just a prevent defense.

Q: Looking ahead you see Texas on the schedule and a tough road ahead, what can you do to put this one behind you?

A: You just have to move on to the next game. This game is over with; we have a loss in the loss column. We're starting the Big 12 at 2-1 right now. We're looking forward to next week and the next game.

Q: What's going on in the 2nd half of games?

A: That's a good question. We just haven't been a productive touchdown offense. We haven't been able to finish. We start off fast I guess and then, I don't know. We've got to get better quick though.
