Names a Top Three

Pearl River Community College wide receiver Larry Freeman is one of the top playmakers in the Mississippi JuCo ranks. Several schools have stepped forward with offers, but Freeman has his sights set on three schools in particular.

"The top schools in the running are South Carolina, Tennessee and Iowa State," said Freeman."

A chance to play in the tradition rich south is very appealing to Freeman.

"The main things I like about Tennessee and South Carolina is that they are good programs in the SEC," said Freeman. "I think the SEC is the best conference for wide receivers. I would really like to play in the SEC."

Iowa State made the cut and may be a bit more aggressive in their pursuit.

"Iowa State told me that I have a good chance to go up there and start. That makes them stand out a bit to me," said Larry.

When asked for a self assessment of his football talents Larry said, "I can block well. I can go in there and get physical with the linebackers. I run good routes and I can catch the ball."

Larry and several of his teammates are playing with a bit of a chip on their shoulder after being passed over for a chance to play for the national championship last season.

"They picked 1 versus 3," said Larry. "I don't know how that happens. We should have gone last year. We have the chance to get there this year if we keep our heads and take things one week at a time. I think we can win it all."
