CN Player Profile - Levi Knutson

It's beginning to look like Levi Knutson's popularity is picking up around the streets of Ames, Iowa. Why? Because two Iowa State coaches made an in-home visit to Knutson's last Monday. So how serious is this attention? Find out everything you need to know about Knutson's recruitment at your top site for Iowa State MBB recruiting information, CycloneNation.com.

Iowa State basketball coaches Greg McDermott and T.J. Otzelberger made the trip out west on Monday when they visited 6'4, 190 pound Levi Knutson.

Knutson, of Arapahoe HS in Littleton, Colorado currently holds offers from: Colorado, Air Force, Army, Navy, Boston University, Harvard, Yale, Montana State and Dartmouth.

That's a lot of Ivy League schools in that list. Why? Because Knutson is a 4.0 student as well as one of the top prospects in the state of Colorado.

Though he has a ton of offers, it looks like Knutson's decision will come down to three schools. Those being Colorado, Air Force and Iowa State who still hasn't offered.

Knutson Timeline

Weekend of Sept. 15 – Knutson visited Colorado and it went great. He showed that he could play against Big 12 talent as he went head to head with members of the Colorado basketball team.

Monday Sept. 18 – Knutson was visited in his hometown by McDermott and Otzelberger. I spoke with Levi's father and he said that the visit was great and he came away impressed with the Iowa State coaches.

This upcoming weekend – Knutson will take an official visit to the Air Force Academy. Sources tell me that Knutson is the final big-time prospect that the Falcons are targeting in the class of 07.

Other Notes:

-          In one AAU game this season, which just happened to be against the Las Vegas Prospects (team consisting of Craig Brackins, P'Allen Stinnett and Andre McFarland), Knutson scored 36 points as he went 6-11 from 3-point range.

-          My gut tells me that if McFarland doesn't commit on Sept. 30, Knutson will get an Iowa State offer. He's the exact type of shooter that the coaches are looking for and he's a class individual with quality character traits as well.
