Brown Eager to Visit Ames

The Iowa State Cyclones are looking for a lighting version to go along with the thunder currently in their backfield.. All indications of their ideal scatback point to Brandon, Florida's Mike Brown, who spoke with Josh Clark in this exclusive report offered to CycloneNation subscribers.

Mike Brown isn't similar to any current running back on Iowa State's roser, and that might actually be
a good thing.

In operating their spread offense, the Cyclones have lacked a home run threat to offset defenses.

Brown, himself, admits to the fact he'd rather make someone miss than run them over.

"I like Iowa State's spread offense," Brown stated.

"It gives more room to operate, and allows you to make plays and make things happen. Iowa State told me their current backs are all bigger backs, and they are looking for a scatback."

"That is what I am. I'd rather make someone miss than run them over. I'll admit it, I'm flash out on
the field, but I can carry the rock, too."

It was last spring the Cyclones set their sights on Brown after viewing one of his spring practices in
person.

Shortly thereafter, Brown received his first phone call from the Cyclones.

"They told me they had seen my film, and liked my style of running. They felt I would be a good fit to
their offense. They said I had real good vision, quick feet, and was elusive," Brown said.

It was only a matter of days after that phone conversation Brown received a scholarship offer from
the Cyclones; his first offer received.

"I was thrilled," Brown remarked.

Chris Ash has been the Cyclones primary recruiter for Brown.

"I like the fact Coach Ash has made it a point to show me he is more interested in me as a person than just a football player," added Brown, who has also received offers from Akron, Arkansas, and South Florida. "He wants to see me do well on the field, but also wants to see me develop into a man. He told me they really care about their player's academics."

Brown informed CycloneNation.com that he is currently in the midst of setting an official visit
with Iowa State that will likely take place after his season.

"Iowa State is at the top of my list, right now, and I want to get up there to check it out. I'm
looking for a place where coming from Florida I will be accepeted. I want to feel at home," Brown stated.

Brown has rushed for 839 yards and 11 touchdowns in playing only four games this season. He's also
recorded four tackles and two interceptions at cornerback.

Before each game on Friday night, Brown says he receives a letter from the Cyclones.

"Iowa State always sends me a note on Friday's wishing me well in my game."

That isn't all, though.

"They tell me to think Cyclones," Brown stated.
