Joe Chaisson was supposed to visit Iowa State this past weekend. With the state of the Iowa State coaching staff, he didn't make the trip. Get the scoop on if he's been contacted by Coach Chizik and what's he's thinking about the new Iowa State program here in this CN recruiting feature.
The former Iowa State
coaching staff was showing some strong interest in Beaumont, TX quarterback Joe Chaisson before they left
campus a few weeks ago. Chaisson was planning on taking an official visit to
State this past weekend but
didn't make the trip for two reasons. One was because his team was still playing
in the playoffs, and the other obvious answer was the unknown state of the
State football program.
"After everything that has
happened, I haven't heard much from them," Chaisson told CN on Monday evening.
"I was going to have to reschedule the visit anyways."
Coach Mike Nelson was Chaisson's
primary recruiter from the old staff and Chaisson said that he was never
contacted by the former coaches after the decision was made. With that being
said, Chaisson told CN that he's still interested in Iowa State and new head coach Gene Chizik.
"I don't know much about him to
tell you the truth. It's one of those things where I'd love to get to know him
if they're still interested in me," Chaisson said.
Chaisson has offers from:
Missouri, Tennessee, LSU, Baylor, UTEP and Indiana. He also said
has been showing heavy interest in him as of late.
