Johnson, a native of Corsicana, Texas, was outstanding in ISU's Big 12 opener, scoring the final four points of the game in an 11-second span, including a putback with 1.6 seconds remaining to give the Cyclones a 66-65 win at Missouri.
The forward had 12 of his 14 points in the second half, helping ISU overcome a 16-point second half deficit. Johnson tallied eight of Iowa State's final 13 points in the last four and a half minutes of the contest and connected on 5-of-8 shots after halftime. Overall, he was 5-of-11 (.455) from the field, grabbing a career-high 13 rebounds with two steals.
He is averaging 10.6 rebounds over his last eight games and is second in the Big 12 in double-doubles with seven.
