It's an exciting time to be an Iowa State football fan.
Season ticket sales are at an all-time high, a multi-million dollar renovation of Jack Trice Stadium is underway, and Gene Chizik comes to Ames as one of the most decorated coaches in the country in recent years to build upon the successful foundation laid down by Dan McCarney.
With Iowa State clearly sending the signal that it intends to take its football program to the next level, it's time for Cyclone Nation to respond accordingly by doing the same thing with its coverage of Cyclone athletics – specifically football.
That's why this fall, we here at Cyclone Nation intend to launch the
most ambitious multi-media coverage of an Iowa State football season ever
attempted. And it all gets started on Saturday, August 4th, when the
Cyclones host their annual football Media Day in Ames.
Cyclone Nation's coverage of the 2007 Iowa State football season will include:
*The additions of former Cyclone football stars Jack Whitver, Luke Vander Sanden, and Lane Danielson as football analysts for the 2007 season.
*The debut of our very own Internet talk show: Cyclone Nation Live. This program will cover live events like Media Day and National Signing Day. Cyclone Nation Live will also broadcast a live interactive hour-long pre-game and post-game show each week during the football season, focusing on the Cyclones and the Big 12. The main studio host for Cyclone Nation Live will be publisher Steve Deace, who for several years hosted the highest-rated daily sports talk radio program in the history of the state of Iowa, before moving over to news talk on the legendary 1040-WHO. Deace will be joined live by guests, including our Cyclone Nation football analysts, and you will be able to interact with the program as well. In addition, Cyclone Nation Live will feature a weekly roundtable broadcast featuring our Cyclone Nation football analysts with in-depth discussion of Cyclone football as well as your input.
*Each Monday during the season from 6-7 p.m. on 1040-WHO, Jon Miller of Hawkeye Nation and Steve Deace of Cyclone Nation will co-host an hour long look at football from a Cy-Hawk perspective. The show will also be streamed live and archived for podcasting at WHORadio.com as well.
*Both Steve Deace and Jonathan Narcisse will be featured weekly during the
football season on The Jon Miller Show on 1460-KXNO in Des Moines. That
show is streamed live each day at KXNO.com.
*The third season premier of Cy-Hawk Talk: State of the Nations is slated for August 9th on Mediacom Connections Channel. Our Steve Deace as well as Jon Miller of Hawkeye Nation hosts this popular television show. Check local listings for availability in your area.
*Plus all the typical coverage of ISU football you've come to expect: preseason practice reports, weekly teleconferences and press conferences with the coaches, player interviews/features, opponent previews, game coverage, photo galleries, etc.
*And coming in September, another new product will be added to the Cyclone Nation stable. Stay tuned in the coming weeks for further details on this new product.
