Roberts, a fierce competitor, was still seething about last week's loss one-point loss to Humble Kingwood.
"We got hosed in the fourth quarter," Roberts said. "I had a touchdown run called back, James (Johnson) had one called back and so did our wide receiver. We'll just have to shake it off and get after Humble this week."
Roberts was asked about school preferences.
"I really like Miami, the Canes," he said immediately. "I'm also am looking at UCLA, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, LSU, Iowa State, Iowa, Colorado and Kansas State. I'm not going to schedule any visits until after the season."
Being such a versatile athlete, does it matter what position he plays on the next level?
"All of the schools are recruiting me as a quarterback, but I don't care," he continued. "I just want to get on the field as soon as possible."
The six-foot, 190-pound Roberts has been clocked at 4.43 in forty, 10.32 in the 100-meter and 21.4 in the 200-meter. And he's doing just as well in the classroom.
"I've been making all "A's" in school and scored a 900 on the SAT," he said.
HR also asked about former Port Arthur Jefferson tight end/defensive end Kevin Everett, who's currently an all-conference tight end at Kilgore JC.
"Kevin will be going to Miami in December and will be playing tight end for them," Roberts said. "And you just watch, he'll be starting."
