Cory Campbell Update

David Garvin of Heartland Recruiting and TheInsiders gives Cyclone Nation an update on Houston (Texas) Westfield safety Cory Campbell, who has been offered a scholarship from Iowa State and several other programs.

Westfield finished with a disappointing 5-5 record and out of the playoffs, but that hasn't defused the interest in free safety Cory Campbell.

"I have 18 offers in all," Campbell told HR on Tuesday night. "I have an official visit scheduled to Iowa State on December 1st and Arkansas on December 13th. I'm supposed to visit Oklahoma the following weekend, but they may reschedule it to January. I will also visit LSU in January."

The six-foot-three, 205-lb free safety claims he has posted a 4.3 in the forty and a 10.5 in the 100-meter.

"I run the 100-meter, 200-meter (21.5) and anchor the 4x100 in track," he said. "I'm being recruited as a corner or free safety by colleges."

Campbell recorded two interceptions this season ("Not much action came my way") along with recording 55 tackles, two fumble recoveries, three caused fumbles, two sacks, six other tackles for losses and five passes broken up.

Campbell, another top recruit that attended the OU-A&M game last weekend, carries a 2.9 GPA and has scored a 1040 on the SAT.
