Tough Decision Could Await Boffeli

"As a kid on my dad's side, I was probably more of a Hawkeye fan but I really like Iowa State a lot," said Valley (IA) High School's Conor Boffeli who currently holds one scholarship offer which comes from the Cyclones.

If Conor lands an offer from the Hawkeyes, things could get very interesting. "If Iowa offers then I will have a really tough decision to make," he said. "Kansas and Northwestern are also recruiting me hard but most likely it will come down to Iowa State and Iowa."

Iowa State is currently recruiting Conor as a tight end but there is a slight chance that could change. "If I stay between 245-265 then I will be playing tight end but if I get much bigger than that, then I would probably move to offensive line."

Boffeli will be in Ames in a few weeks for a 7-on-7 camp and likes what he has seen of the Cyclones so far. "Coach Bolt and Coach Fountain have visited my school and I really like talking to both of them," he said. "I also talked to Coach Chizik last week and he just wanted to see how I was doing and check out my summer plans. He seems like a really good coach."

Along with the Iowa State coaches, one incoming Cyclone player would also like to see Conor land in Ames. "Jake (McDonough) really wants me to pick Iowa State. He's a real good friend," said Boffeli. "We probably talk a couple times a week. I definitely take it into consideration but ultimately I'll have the make the best decision for myself."

Boffeli said he will not make a decision either way until at least the fall. "I'm probably going to make it right before my season starts or right as it ends."
