Harrison Takes Visit To Iowa State

Waxahachie (TX) High School's Drew Harrison, who is one of Iowa State's top tight end recruiting targets, was in Ames for a short unofficial visit on Sunday.

"I had a baseball tournament in Minnesota the last couple days and then my dad and I drove down to see Iowa State today," said Harrison. "We got to see a lot in about two hours and they had some great barbeque for us."

The 6-foot-4, 250-pound tight end has already orally committed to play baseball for Oklahoma but says his decision is not yet final. "I like Oklahoma but I'm still considering Iowa State," he said. "Things with Coach Chizik went good. He told me they really want me and said they would try to work with me in regards to playing baseball also."

Drew was only in Ames for a short time but clearly liked what he saw in that time. "I got to see the academic center, the weight room, and the indoor practice facility," he said. "They were really nice and my dad really liked everything also."

Harrison says that distance will not be issue but that he is not sure when he will make his final decision. "It could be in the fall or I may wait until later after the season to make it."
