The 6-foot-4, 240-pound Sager said one thing is for sure about his recruitment. "I'm not going to a school where it looks like I won't play until my senior year," he said. "I want to be able to come in and contribute as soon as possible."
This is one reason why he likes Iowa State. "I talk to Coach Bolt a lot and he told me that I would have a good chance of contributing as a freshman and could possibly be starting as a sophomore," said Sager. "I also talked with Coach Chizik and he said he really liked me and that it's really up to me how quickly I develop."
Luke has camps coming up at Vanderbilt and Auburn and said that a decision could come late in the summer. "I'd like to commit by the end of the summer because I don't want to have to worry about it during the season," he said. "But I don't want to commit too early so I'm not sure. I may wait until after the season."
He also feels location won't be a major factor on his decision. "Part of me would like to stay in the south but ultimately I'm going to the school where I feel best and a place that I'm going to enjoy for the next four years of my life."
