The 6-foot-5 small forward says that he really likes the potential opportunity that the Cyclones would have to offer. "I really like that there is a good chance that I could come in and start," said Farmer. "Playing with Diante (Garrett) and Craig (Brackins) would also be great. The three of us hung out and were talking all weekend. If I end up at Iowa State it would make it easier because now we already have a connection."
Jemal has mostly been in contact with Iowa State Assistant Coach Jeff Rutter. "Him and I have a real cool connection. He's just a great guy to communicate with," he said. "It was great this weekend because I got to really meet their whole staff."
His meeting with the staff went real well and late on Sunday afternoon he got to meet with Cyclone Head Coach Greg McDermott. "After the camp we went in his office and he offered me the scholarship," said Farmer. "He told me that he liked the way I play and that he really hopes that I come to Iowa State. I feel like I got a really good feel for him and he's definitely a guy that I could play for."
Farmer says that along with Iowa State he is also getting recruited hard by Kansas State and Nebraska and that he is looking forward to one more big event during the summer. "I'm excited about the big Jerry Mullins Junior College camp in Tulsa (OK) from July 5-8," he said. "After that I'll probably wait a couple weeks and then look to make a final decision because I will definitely be signing during the early period."
