Barnes has received numerous offers this summer but reiterated that he is not close to making a final choice on his college destination. He feels that things really took off for him after the Nike Hoops Jamboree in June. "It was a lot of fun because it was the first big camp where I have able to measure my skills against the best players," he said. "It gave me a lot of confidence that I could play with the best and that if I work hard I have the potential to be the best."
Harrison has also enjoyed getting to play in the Capital City Summer League with some of the local college players. "I've played in two games and it's a lot of fun," said Barnes. "They can really body you up and knock you down. The game is a lot faster and it just prepares you better."
Barnes is also using the summer to refine his overall game. "I'm really trying to improve my ballhandling skills," he said. "I just want to be as much of a complete player as I can possibly be."
