Iowa State Interested in Florida Quarterback

One thing that you have to like about Fort Pierce (FL) quarterback Isaac Virgin is that he sets high standards for himself.

"I would like to play to the standard of Tom Brady," he said. "He's the ideal quarterback and one day I would just like to be able to show as much knowledge at the postion as he does."

Isaac holds scholarship offers from South Florida, Liberty, and Iowa State and currently has no leaders for his services. "I'm undecided at the moment," said Virgin. "I want to get to know the coaches better and go on my visits. That way I'll get to see if I could live in that atmosphere."

THe 6-foot-4, 235-pound Virgin has camped at South Florida and said he will likely take an unofficial visit to Liberty late in the summer.

He said he stays in touch with Iowa State assistant coach Petersen and that a visit to Ames is likely. "I talk to Coach Petersen a lot and he's trying to get me up for a visit in the fall," said Virgin. "I think there is a chance that I could be competing for the job at Iowa State by my sophomore year."

Virgin has had a very unique career so far at Westwood High School. "I started at quarterback on varsity my sophomore year but then I missed six games due to a concussion," he said. ""Then last year I started at tight end because coach wanted to use my blocking ability but then he started me at quarterback for the last five games."

Virgin plans on going to camps at Miami (Fla.) and Florida International in July and is not sure when he will make a final decision. "I'm definitely waiting for a while because I want to make sure I make the right decision."
