Knight Sets Up Visit To Iowa State

As the recruiting season moves towards the fall, Wichita Heights (KS) High School's Ian Knight has moved two schools to the forefront.

"It's pretty much Iowa State and Illinois at this point," he said. "I just really like their coaching staffs and feel really comfortable with both."

The 6-foot-2, 245-pound defensive end said there is two schools that still have an outside chance of landing his commitment. "Vanderbilt and Missouri are recruiting me but they haven't offered yet," said Knight. "They would have to show some serious interest and start coming to some of my games in order to really get my attention."

Knight spoke with Iowa State assistant coach Shawn Raney on Thursday and was able to make some very important plans. "We set up my official visit," he said. "I'll be coming up for the Kent State game on September 6th. I'll be coming with my mom and my uncle might also come."

Ian says that the visit will really be important. "I just want to check out the environment and get a feel for the game day atmosphere," he said. "I also want to see how I fit in with the players."

Knight will take a visit to Illinois on October 17th and then will likely make a decision soon after. "I could make a decision earlier but it's likely that I won't make a decision until after my visit to Illinois."
