A. Maceo Smith Teammates Heading North

David Garvin of Heartland Recruiting and TheInsiders gives Cyclone Nation an update on Dallas (Texas) A. Maceo Smith teammates Ronald Simmons and Billy Davidson, who are happy to report they'll be heading North in a few weeks.

"I'll be going up with Billy (Davidson) to Iowa State on December 13th," Simmons told HR on Wednesday night. "I'm also hoping to hear back from Colorado."

Even though A. Maceo Smith was eliminated from the playoffs by Thomas Jefferson last Thursday night, Simmons led all state 4-A rushers in the DFW Metroplex with 1,958 yards on 244 carries with 17 touchdowns.

Simmons was asked how his left knee was holding up, the one he injured last season.

It's doing great, no problem," he said. "I won't be playing basketball, but will be running the 100-meter and both relays (4x1 and 4x4) in track."

Davidson also had a few things to share about his trip to Ames.

"I'll be making my visit to Iowa State on December 13th," Davidson told HR on Wednesday afternoon. "I'm also receiving calls from New Mexico, Houston and TCU concerning possible visits."

At this point, the Cyclones are the clear favorite, as they're recruiting the five-foot-eleven, 220-lb Davidson as a linebacker.
