Jason Berryman Update

David Garvin of Heartland Recruiting and TheInsiders gives Cyclone Nation an update on Houston (Texas) Kashmere linebacker Jason Berryman, who has been offered a scholarship by Iowa State and several other D-I programs.

Houston Kashmere may have been eliminated from the playoffs by C.E.King 23-0, but it wasn't due to lack of effort by Jason Berryman.

"Jason had at least twenty tackles by my count," Jason's dad told HR on Monday night. "He also had two fumble recoveries, caused one of those fumbles himself and had three sacks. Jason's been named Defensive Player of the Year in our district.

Mr. Berryman, who is a teacher at Kashmere, was asked about Jason's official visits.

"We've already committed for visits to Pittsburg and Iowa State," he continued. "We haven't set dates yet, but those are two he'll visit for sure. Other schools that have been in contact are Miami (they're requested film), Texas, Texas A&M, LSU, Kansas (was at the school today) and SMU (who was at the school last Friday)."

"One thing's for certain," Mr. Berryman said. "Jason will take all five visits before he makes a decision."
