Reynolds Enjoys Visit To Ames

Due to his own team also playing on Thursday night, Reedley Junior College quarterback Darius Reynolds was not able to arrive for his official visit until Friday night. He stayed until Sunday and enjoyed every minute of it.

"Everything was good and I really liked it a lot," said Reynolds. "Everything stood out to me and I definitely think I could fit in there."

When Darius arrived Friday he was quickly reunited with one of his former coaches from Reedley. "When I got in I got to hang out with Coach Beatty and he just told me that he was happy that I had made it for the visit," he said. "I mostly hung out with Phillip Bates that night and he introduced me to some of the other players. He's real cool and he did a nice job of showing me around that night. He said he would try to stay in touch as much as possible."

Reynolds also got to go to a film session during his visit. "They also took me into a session with the wide receivers," he said. "Coach Rodgers was breaking down film with the players."

The 6-foot-4, 190 pound quarterback is being recruited as a wide receiver by Iowa State and has stated in the past to Cyclone Sports Report that he has no problem making the change in positions.

He said that Saturday was also a fun day for him as well. "I got to meet most of the coaches and a lot more players on Saturday night," said Reynolds. "I also got to meet with the academic coordinator and they told me what I would need to do if I went to Iowa State."

Then on Sunday he got to have a one-on-one meeting with Cyclone Head Coach Gene Chizik. "I met with him today before I left," he said. "He told me how he wants me to come to Iowa State to play. I would say it was a very good meeting."

Even though Reynolds clearly enjoyed his visit to Ames, he is still sticking to his plan of waiting before making a final decision. "I really enjoyed it there but I'm still going to wait it out and see what happens."
