Meet Brad Wilcox

Edmond North (OK) High School's Brad Wilcox recently received a scholarship offer from Iowa State. Cyclone Sports Report caught up with him recently to get the inside scoop on his recruitment.

Iowa State's recruitment of the 6-foot-7, 270 offensive tackle began late last spring. "Coach (Shawn) Raney came out last spring to see me," said Wilcox. "They are also going come down to visit me when they play at Oklahoma State."

Wilcox currently holds offers from Iowa State and BYU and is also receiving heavy interest from one other school. "BYU and Iowa State are definitely my favorites at the moment," he said. "But I'm also hearing from Texas Tech and at the moment I'm still looking at all my options."

Brad says that he talks consistently with Coach Raney and that he hopes to take a visit to Ames in the near future. "He told me that the coaches really like my film and that they really want to get me up for a visit," said Wilcox. "I'll be taking an unofficial visit to BYU this weekend and then I hope to visit Iowa State soon after that."

Wilcox moved to Oklahoma from Everett, Washington back in 2003 and says that location will not be an issue for him when he makes his final decision. "I'm not concerned about location," he said. "The football program is the key factor for me. Where they are currently at and where they will be when I'm playing will be the most important factor for me."

Brad says that his main focus right now is to help get his high school team its first victory. "Things are not going so good for us," said Wilcox. "We are 0-2 but we should definitely win our next game."
