Will Brisbon Be The Next Cyclone Commit?

With Iowa State having already been named as his clear leader, will a visit to Ames this upcoming week for the Kansas game clinch a commitment from Tampa's Jerod Brisbon?

"I believe it could happen," said Brisbon. "It probably could happen but I might keep it a secret from my parents. I want it to be a surprise for them."

The 6-foot, 205-pound linebacker from Hillsborough High School in Tampa, Florida is also being recruited heavily by Ball State but says that his long standing relationship with the Cyclones could very easily win out. "I've built a relationship with them and I understand where they're coming from," said Brisbon. "Coach Pelton told me he sees great things for me at Iowa State. He told me that I would have the opportunity to play next year but that obviously I would have to work hard."

Jerod also knows what he is looking for when he arrives in Ames this upcoming weekend. "I really can't wait and I just want to get to know the coaches better and see if I can fit in with the program," said Brisbon. "The relationship with the players will obviously be real important."

Jerod also has noticed that Iowa State already had two solid linebacker commitments from A.J. Klein and Ryan Mosby. "It would be nice to join that group and know that you are going to play with other real good linebackers," he said. "I like to work together and know that they got my back if I make a mistake and that I got their back if they make a mistake."

Jerod, who will be visiting with his dad and brother, also recently got to talk with Iowa State's head coach Gene Chizik. "He told me after seeing my film that I was a real good player," said Brisbon. "He couldn't wait to meet me and my family."
