D.J. really enjoyed his visit to Ames this week but didn't want to commit before talking things over back home. "I'm feeling real good about Iowa State and they are definitely my leader," said Beshears. "But I wanted to make sure that I could sit down and talk everything over with my dad."
The 5-foot-9, 185-pound wide receiver loved attending the game on Saturday but felt bad about the tough loss to Kansas. "I had a good time and the atmosphere was amazing," said Beshears. "It's really a good place to play football. They have no NFL team and the whole town supports the entire team. It was a tough loss but they almost got it."
D.J. really liked talking with Coach Chizik after the game. "He told me what he saw me doing at Iowa State and how I would contribute," said Beshears. "He basically told me that he wants me to be a Cyclone."
He also likes that Iowa State has always shown interest on a consistent basis. "Loyalty definitely plays a big part for me," he said. "I feel like I have already developed a strong relationship with the coaches."
Beshears has helped lead Ryan (TX) High School to a 4-1 record this season and has 11 receiving touchdowns to go along with two punt returns for touchdowns.
