Reynolds Still Favoring Iowa State

Reedley College's Darius Reynolds is now a starting wide receiver due to a rash of injuries and so far he likes the challenge of trying to master another position.

"We had three of our best wide receivers get hurt early in the season and so my coach moved me to play there and so now we have Zach McRae playing quarterback and things are starting to really click," said Reynolds. "I like it playing wide receiver even though I kind of miss playing quarterback. People weren't sure I could do this but it's a lot easier than I thought it would be. I like getting out on the edge and using my speed."

The 6-foot-4, 190-pound wide receiver was excited when Iowa State assistant coach Jay Rodgers came out for a visit a few weeks back. "He came out two weeks ago to see me play," said Reynolds. "Coach Rodgers and I are real cool right now. I really like him a lot."

Iowa State is currently the only offer Reynolds has and the Cyclones now are in a real good position to possibly land the junior college star. "Right now I'm definitely leaning towards them but I'm going to wait a while before I make a final decision," he said. "I like the fact that they offered me early and they really have a great coaching staff. I also like the fact that they said that they would use me like I'm used here so I feel I would be comfortable just stepping in and playing for them next season."

Reynolds main concern at the moment is to continue to get his team's season turned around. "We're 3-2 because we got off to a slow start due to all the injuries," he said. "But now things are rolling and this week we got our first conference game so this week is really big for us."
