Hargrett Names His Top Five

It has been almost a month since Miami Northwestern (FL) High School's Daquan Hargrett took a visit to Iowa State. So are the Cyclones still a team that he is strongly considering?

"I still have big interest in Iowa State," he said. "Right now I'm still verbally committed to West Virginia but I'm also seriously considering Iowa State, Clemson, Troy, and South Florida."

The 5-foot-9, 180-pound running back will be taking a visit next week and says that a final decision will not be coming for a while. "The only visit I have set up at the moment is next week when I go to West Virginia," said Hargrett. "I would say that my decision could definitely go down to signing day."

Daquan says that he has stayed in constant contact with the Cyclone coaches since his visit to Iowa State in early October. "I talk with Coach Boulware and I have spoken a few times with Coach Chizik," he said. "Coach Chizik told me that he wants me there real bad and that I'm one of the guys who he feels could really come in and make a difference. I feel very comfortable with him."

Hargrett also likes that the fact that he would have an opportunity to play early at Iowa State. "That affects me a lot because they have proven that they are not scared to play freshmen," he said. "Coach Chizik is going with the best guy and wants players who can come in and get the job done."
