The 6-foot-7, 202-pound forward added that he does feel even more comfortable after taking his official visit this fall. "It made things a lot easier because now I know what to expect," said Gilstrap. "I still talk with the Iowa State coaches all the time. I just talked with Coach McDermott last weekend after my game."
Marquis has already helped Gulf Coast Community College to a 3-1 record as their leading scorer averaging 21.7 per game. After missing two years due to injury, Gilstrap says that he's just happy to be back out on the court playing basketball again. "It feels better than before I was injured," he said. "I just want to keep on playing healthy and have a great season so I can help Gulf Coast have a winning season this year."
