Caleb Berg Update

David Garvin of Heartland Recruiting and TheInsiders gives Cyclone Nation an update on Henderson (Nebraska) Heartland defensive back Caleb Berg, who has already committed to Iowa State and took his official visit to Ames last weekend.

"It was just an awesome trip," Berg told HR on Tuesday night. "Matter of fact, it was so good, I didn't want to leave. I simply wanted to enroll and begin right then and there. I was totally impressed with the coaching staff, the players and the school."

HR asked what Berg's off-season plans were.

"I'm not going to play basketball this season," he continued. "I'm just going to run and lift weights in order to get ready for my freshman year."

Berg recorded 110 tackles while playing middle linebacker for the final half of the season, leading his team to the second round of the playoffs, losing to the eventual state champion, Lawernce-Nelson.
