Jackson Enjoys Visit To Iowa State

Will Cypress Ridge (TX) High School's Princeton Jackson be the next commitment for the 2009 Iowa State football recruiting class?

"I met with Coach Chizik today and he told me that I'm the next linebacker that they are going to offer," he said. "I got home tonight and I'm supposed to talk it over with my parents to see if I really want to go there. I really liked it and if offered officially there is definitely a chance that I could commit."

The 6-foot-1, 210-pound outside linebacker really enjoyed getting to meet with the Iowa State head coach. "I really liked him because I feel he would be real with me," he said. "He told me that if I ended up at Iowa State that he would give me the opportunity to fight for a position. I feel it could be a great fit for me."

Jackson has an offer from Texas Southern and is also being recruited heavily by Buffalo and Houston but says he would love to play in the Big 12. "Playing in the Big 12 would be a thrill," he said. "Growing up here in Texas I was a Longhorn fan. To play in that conference would really be an honor."

He also likes that the Iowa State roster has many players from the state of Texas. "My host was Darius Darks and we bonded really well. I feel like I have known him for years now," he said. "I found out that I had played against Fred Garrin a few years ago and I also know Sedric Johnson. My aunt taught him in high school."

Princeton also really enjoyed getting to meet an advisor at the Academic Center. "One of the academic ladies was real helpful," he said. "I want to major in Industrial Engineering and she showed me all the stuff that I needed to see. She also showed me all the electives that I would need."
