A.J. Klein Reacts To Head Coaching News

Kimberly (WI) High School's A.J. Klein had just finished working out when he heard the news that Iowa State head coach Gene Chizik was leaving to coach at Auburn.

"I'm shocked, very, very shocked," he said. "I'm definitely going to have to open up my recruitment again because the main reason that drew me to Iowa State was Coach Chizik."

The 6-foot-1, 210-pound linebacker says there is still a chance that he will end up as a Cyclone. "I don't know if I'm going to de-commit but I'm definitely going to start the whole process all over again," said Klein. "I will definitely wait and talk to the new coach and if things go well then I will stay."

Klein had turned away other schools during the season but now will definitely be willing to at least listen to their overtures. "Iowa, Stanford, and Kansas had called wanting tape but I told them no because I was committed," he said. "Now I'm willing to listen to what they have to say and will likely be sending out tape to them."
