Prelow Returns From Iowa State Visit

Fresh off taking his official visit to Iowa State this weekend, Tampa (Fla.) Jefferson linebacker Ron Prelow spoke with Cyclone Nation Monday night about his experience.

The 6-foot, 210-pounder was one of several Florida high schoolers that made their way to Ames, and joined his teammate Josh Balloon on the trip.

"I had a good visit up there," said Prelow, who recorded more than 100 tackles and 15 sacks as a senior while helping Jefferson into the state playoffs. "It's a nice, quiet town. Ames is a fairly good town. I watched a few of their practices and they had a real nice tempo to them."

Prelow also has scholarship offers from and visits set for Tennessee, Vanderbilt and South Florida in January. Although ISU left a nice first impression, he's looking forward to comparing it to the other programs.

"I want to keep my options open," he said. "Signing date isn't until February. If Iowa State is still the best option for me at that point, then I will go with them. I want to finish my visits up first and then make my decision. I plan on taking visits to Vanderbilt, Tennessee and South Florida."

Prelow is being recruited as either a MIKE or WILL linebacker.
