Blankenship Enjoys Conversation With Rhoads

Although it wasn't a long conversation, Norman North (OK) High School's Beau Blankenship enjoyed getting an opportunity to speak with new Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoads.

"I was out to eat yesterday when he called so we didn't get to talk too long but it was a good talk," said Blankenship. "I like him and I feel that he seems real down to earth. It's definitely a relief that I talked with him. He said he watched my film and that he loved it and he definitely wants me at Iowa State."

The 5-foot-8, 205-pound running back said that he looks forward to meeting with Coach Rhoads in person in the near future. "He said he's coming down to see me in a couple weeks," said Blankenship. "I want to sit down and talk with him in person to talk more about his vision. I also plan on calling him in the next couple days."

Beau is still a Cyclone commit but says that he still is keeping his options open. "I'm still committed to Iowa State but I have talked to a few schools," said Blankenship. "Kansas, Tulsa, and Oregon have called about getting some film and possibly coming for an in-home visit."
