"I'm 100% Committed To Iowa State"

After getting to talk with new Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoads, Kimberly (WI) High School star linebacker A.J. Klein decided that Iowa State was still the right place for him to play his college football.

"I was just waiting for the call and after talking with him for about 10 or 15 minutes I told him that I'm 100 percent committed to Iowa State," said Klein. "He seems like a great guy and I just can't wait to start working with him. He's also a defensive-minded coach which is what I was hoping for."

A.J. also liked the fact that his coach took time on a holiday to get a hold of him. "It was really special that he called me on Christmas day," said Klein. "He told me that he watched some of my film and that I'm one of the guys that he wants to build the defense around."

A.J. also really liked how excited his new coach was about getting Iowa State turned in the right direction. "I really liked his energy and enthusiasm when I was talking with him," said Klein. "He's really ready to get the ball rolling and I'll be calling him on Monday or Tuesday to talk more with him. He also told me about his new assistant head coach (Bill Bleil)and told me that he was definitely looking to have me at middle linebacker but that things could possibly change in time."

Now that A.J. is completely done with his recruitment he hopes to make it to Iowa State one more time. "We talked about me coming for another visit but I'm not sure yet when it would be," said Klein. "I'd like to possibly make it for the spring game but I'll just have to see how my schedule works out."
