David Garvin of Heartland Recruiting and TheInsiders gives Cyclone Nation an update on Sugar Land (Texas) Hightower defensive tackle Marque Fountain, who may be planning a visit to Iowa State in the near future.
"I've already made official visits to Colorado State
on December 6th and one to Kansas
last week," Marque Fountain
told HR on Tuesday night. "And I have one scheduled to Oklahoma State
on January 10th.
Why all the flurry of activity over this youngster? Maybe his stats tell the tale.
"I had 62 solos, with 49 assists, eight sacks, four fumble recoveries, two caused fumbles and one deflected pass this season," Marque said. "I played a '5' technique (lining up on the outside shoulder of the tackle)."
He was asked about his final two visits.
"I'm still looking at several schools," he continued. "Arizona, Iowa State, New Mexico, Baylor and North Texas are still being considered."
Fountain has received offers from Kansas, Oklahoma State, Colorado State, Arizona, Texas Tech, Baylor, UNT, Southern Miss and Iowa State.
He carries a 3.0 GPA (honor roll student) and has scored an 800 on the SAT, but took the test again two weeks ago.
