Beshears Talks Recruitment

Where does the recruitment of Denton (TX) High School's D.J. Beshears stand now that he has talked with new Cyclone head coach Paul Rhoads?

"I talked to him this last week and he said he got to watch my tape and that he really liked what he saw," said Beshears. "He told me that he wants to get the ball in my hands and that he plans on running the spread offense."

The 5-foot-9, 185-pound wide receiver did leave the door open slightly on his recruitment but it looks likely that he will end up at Iowa State. "When Coach Chizik left I opened things up a little and I have talked some with Kansas but Iowa State is still my top school," said Beshears. "Coach Rhoads said that he plans on hopefully coming to visit me this Friday and if the visit goes well I'm pretty sure that I would end up at Iowa State."

Something that is also helping the recruitment of D.J. is that fact that Rhoads has retained Cyclone assistant coach Scott Fountain. "I've talked with Coach Fountain also and he said that he was going to try and also come see me," said Beshears. "He and I have always had a good relationship."
