Lenz Fully Committed To Iowa State

Dubuque (IA) Hempstead's Josh Lenz is excited to have his recruitment over and is very excited to become an Iowa State Cyclone.

"I'm definitely done," said Lenz. "After going up to Ames and meeting with Coach Rhoads this past weekend I really liked what he had to say. I really liked him and I think it's great that we got an Iowa guy to coach here."

After talking with his new coach, Josh felt Coach Rhoads was bringing in a lot of energy that will likely lead to good things in the future. "He's just really passionate about the state of Iowa," said Lenz. "I felt Coach Chizik was too but now knowing Coach Rhoads background I really think he'll want to stick around and that he really wants to be here."

The 6-foot, 180-pound wide receiver is also very excited about Coach Tom Herman becoming the new offensive coordinator at Iowa State. "I read up on what he had done and it seems like a pretty fun offense slinging the ball around," said Lenz. "He seems to get everyone involved and I just really look forward to it."

Josh is pretty sure his expected role on offense has not changed but realizes that he might be redshirting next year as a freshman. "Coach Rhoads still wants me to play the slot," said Lenz. "I'm just going to come in and compete for a spot next year but if they need me to redshirt then I'm comfortable with that."
