Iowa State Lands Commitment From Florida WR

The commitments kept rolling Saturday night as the Cyclones picked up another wide receiver for their 2009 recruiting class.

One week after committing to Florida Atlantic, St.Cloud (FL) High School's Donnie Jennert had a change of heart and decided to pledge his commitment to the Cyclones. Only on Cyclone Sports Report can you find out why he chose to make the switch.

"I just committed twenty minutes ago and Coach Rhoads was really excited," said Jennert. "Me and my boys from Florida are ready to come play some football at Iowa State."

The 6-foot-6, 192-pound wide receiver feels that Iowa State is just a better fit for him than Florida Atlantic. "I was watching a lot of film with Coach Herman today and his offense looks really good," said Jennert. "Iowa State has been recruiting me as a wide receiver and Florida Atlantic was looking at me as a tight end. I like playing wide receiver more than tight end."

Donnie says that Iowa State had already offered him and that he had really enjoyed his home visit with Coach Rhoads. "We had a good visit at my home and my mom really liked him a lot," said Jennert. "She really appreciated him coming down to Florida."

He feels that he's in good hands with his future coach. "Coach Rhoads really believes in me and that I can be a leader here at Iowa State," said Jennert. "We've built a good relationship and I'm just excited to be done with my recruitment."
