Florida Linebacker Excited To Be A Cyclone

The Iowa State coaching staff added some defensive depth to their team Saturday night by adding another linebacker to their 2009 recruiting class.

Orlando (FL) Jones High School's Willie Scott decided to end his recruitment on Saturday after meeting with Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoads.

"I just met with Coach Rhoads and he offered me a scholarship and then he asked what I thought I might want to do," said Scott. "I just said Coach Rhoads I want to come play football for you and he was real happy with my decision."

The 6-foot-2, 215-pound outside linebacker says that his relationship with Cyclone assistant coach Scott Fountain was real important. "They have been recruiting since the middle of the season and I was in contact with Coach Fountain most of the time," said Scott. "Then he came down for a visit at my house last Wednesday and that went real well."

So what was it that the Iowa State staff like about Scott? "Coach Rhoads told me that he likes that I'm a real physical player and also how I run to the ball," he said. "I'm just really excited to play for him because I really like how Coach Rhoads runs his defense."
