While Iowa State may not be close to home for Larvez he said that while on his visit to Iowa State last weekend that the players really made him feel it at home. "I was talking with Bo Williams and Jeremiah Schwartz and they were telling me that I would have a great opportunity to play there and that the team is really hungry to win," he said. "They're from Florida and they told me that they really feel at home at Iowa State and I felt the same way when I was there."
Larvez also had a visitor from Iowa State at his school this week. "Coach Fountain came and visited me at my school on Monday," said Mars.
Larvez said that he has really enjoyed talking with Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoads. "He's just a really cool guy," he said. "I got to talk with him on my visit and some on the phone and he's just real laid back and he really makes you feel comfortable."
If Larvez takes care of a minor issue with his classes he might end up playing for Coach Rhoads in the future. "I'm not fully qualified yet but my test score is fine," said Mars. "I just have to take two classes over in the spring and then I'll be fine."
