CSR Exclusive: One-On-One With Mike Marry

Iowa State has had a very successful recruiting weekend but they still have a few more recruiting targets that they hope to land and one of them is Largo (FL) High School's Mike Marry. CSR talked with the outstanding linebacker to see where he is currently at with his recruitment as he approaches signing day.

Cyclone Sports Report: So can you break down the biggest advantage that each of your four remaining schools have in order to get you to sign with them?

Mike Marry: At Duke I would say it's the academics and the coaching staff. At Iowa State I would say it's the academics, the coaches, and my best friend Leonard Johnson is there. At Mississippi I would say the coaches and the fact that my cousin, Dexter McCluster, plays there. At South Florida, I would say that it's kind of close to home, the coaches, and the recruiting class that they are bringing in.

CSR: Has any of the Iowa State coaching staff been down to see you recently?

MM: Yes, Coach Ash and their new linebackers coach came and saw me on Tuesday. They told me that they think I can come in and play right away next year. They were really nice people.

CSR: What do you think about Iowa State's head coach Paul Rhoads?

MM: He's a nice person and Leonard (Johnson) speaks really highly about him. He came to my school and saw me shortly after the coaching change.

CSR: Have you been talking to Leonard a lot lately?

MM: Yeah, he just told me to make the best decision for myself.

CSR: When do you expect to make your final decision?

MM: Probably in the next day or two.
