Iowa State junior Tim Barnes established career highs for points and rebounds in ISU's win versus Drake and has been named the Phillips 66 Big 12
Rookie of the Week.
Barnes had a career-game in ISU's only outing during the week, helping the Cyclones down Drake, 76-55. The Henderson, Ky., guard established career-highs in points (16), field goals (8) and rebounds (7) and was one shy of his career high in assists with eight.
Barnes started the game making his first eight shots before missing his final two to go 8-for-10 from the floor.
Barnes, who has now handed out eight or more assists in five games this season, only committed one turnover in the game to improve his assist-to-turnover ratio to 2.6, on pace to become one of the best in school history. Barnes is averaging 6.6 assists per game in his first season with the Cyclones.
