Prelow Addresses Recruiting Status

Cyclone Nation went straight to the source to find out if Iowa State had indeed picked up another commitment for the Class of 2003.

Contrary to some reports, Tampa (Fla.) Jefferson linebacker Ron Prelow says any rumors of a commitment are false.

However, he did say that his choices are now between ISU and Vanderbilt. A decision will come this weekend after he is through making his official visits.

"I'm getting ready to make a commitment," he said. "After my visit to Vanderbilt I'll let them know. Tennessee's out of the picture now. I heard that Vanderbilt's a good academic school, so I want to check out the academics."

The Cyclones' strengths, according to Prelow, are in what they offer on and off the football field.

"I liked the hospitality at Iowa State and they have an excellent academic program, too," he said. "I felt right at home with the football team."

Prelow, who played a big role for a Jefferson that reached the Class 4A state title game, says he'd like to major in forensic science.
