Fennelly inducted into Hall of Fame

Before reinventing Iowa State women's basketball, Coach Bill Fennelly had a tremendouly successful stint at Toledo. The Rockets have chosen to honor his accomplishments by inducting him into their Hall of Fame.

Iowa State women's basketball head coach Bill Fennelly is one of seven inductees into the 2003 University of Toledo Varsity "T" Hall of Fame Jan. 24.

Fennelly, who coached the Rockets from 1988-95, compiled a record of 166-53 (.758) in seven seasons, including six 20-win campaigns. He was voted Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year twice and earned District IV coach of the year honors in 1991. Fennelly guided UT to three NCAA Tournament appearances and three WNIT berths, finishing as high as second in the WNIT.

Fennelly's Rockets went 112-28 in MAC games and enjoyed a 31-game home win streak. He joins current Cyclone assistant and former All-American Latoja Harris, who was inducted in 2000, in the UT hall of fame.
