Cyclones Offer Florida Linebacker

Iowa State will have four of their top linebackers graduating at the end of the upcoming season and this fact is something that has definitely caught the attention of Lakeland (FL) High School's William Lucas. The linebacker talks with Cyclone Sports Report about where his recruitment stands at the moment.

"I've mostly been talking with Coach Burnham," said Lucas. "He told me that he thought that I could really fit well into their defense and about two weeks ago he offered me a scholarship to Iowa State."

Along with the offer to Iowa State, the 6-foot, 217-pound linebacker has also received offers from Marshall, Tulane, Louisville, Georgia Southern, and Alabama State. "I play middle linebacker but some of them have offered me as an outside linebacker," said Lucas. "I'm really taking them all seriously at the moment and I don't really have a favorite."

William has known Coach Burnham for a while and says that he has a unique link to the coach. "He's real nice and really knows his stuff," he said. "He's coached our (Lakeland) defensive coordinator, Jason Butler, at USF and he has told also told me great things about Coach Burnham."

William is not sure when he will make a final decision but said that it could come sooner than later. "I might actually make my decision this summer," said Lucas. "I'm just not sure yet and it really depends on what happens with my recruitment this summer."
