Lucas Enjoys Camp At ISU

Liberty (MO) High School star wide receiver Marcus Lucas took a visit recently to Iowa State's one-day football camp and came away with another scholarship offer. Cyclone Sports caught up with Marcus to find out where his recruitment currently stands.

"Coach Wells from Iowa State had been sending me a lot of letters and so I decided to go to their camp with group of my friends," said Lucas. "It was a good time and it was real organized. I had fun but I didn't really get to see the rest of the campus."

The 6-foot-5, 204-pound wide receiver also got to have a meeting with Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoads. "He offered me a scholarship and really broke things down for me," said Lucas. "He told me all the good things about the school and how I really fit what they are looking for."

Marcus currently has scholarship offers from UCLA, Stanford, Miami (FL), Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas State, Arkansas, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Iowa State, and Tulsa and says that there is no clear favorite at the moment. "I have no leaders right now but I have probably visited Missouri and Oklahoma the most," he said. "I also have a visit to Arkansas coming up in the next few weeks."

Lucas will likely not make a final decision until the fall but does know the two conferences that he would prefer to play in. "I'm going to take all of my visits and then make a decision," he said. "My dream is to play in the Big 12 or SEC."
