ISU Showing Jackson The Love

Sierra (CA) Community College defensive end Perry Jackson currently has four scholarship offers but recently told Cyclone Sports Report that one school is clearly recruiting him the hardest.

"I have offers from Iowa State, San Diego State, Utah, and Colorado State," said Jackson. "But Iowa State is definitely recruiting me the hardest. They have sent me the most hand written letters and the thought of playing in the Big 12 really excites me."

The 6-foot-2, 250-pound defensive end had 70 tackles and 2 sacks last season and he likes that Iowa State is looking at him for a variety of reasons. " Coach Bleil told me that they really like my speed when he called to offer me," said Jackson. "He also told me that he saw me as a leader who could come up there and help change some things."

Perry also likes the fact that Iowa State has three defensive ends that will be graduating after the 2009 season. "That would definitely help me to come in and do something right away at Iowa State."

Jackson will not be making a final decision any time soon but definitely expects to visit Iowa State. "It's very likely that I will take a visit to Iowa State in the fall," he said. "I'm looking to take as many visits as possible. After I'm done with all of them I'll talk it over with my coach and make a decision."
