Will Robinson Join Teammate in Ames?

Late in the recruiting season last year Iowa State landed a commitment from Orlando Jones (FL) High School's Willie Scott. The Cyclones staff are now targeting one of his teammates, Stacy Robinson, in hopes of uniting the high school teammates in Ames for the 2010 season.

"Iowa State offered me about two weeks ago," said Robinson. "Coach (Shane) Burnham has been recruiting me since a little bit before school let out. He came down and saw me and told me that they like my hustle and my jumping ability at wide receiver."

Stacy also likes that fact that one of his close friends would also be in Ames. "Willie (Scott) and I are really good friends and so that definitely helps Iowa State," said Robinson. "He said that it was a really good school other than the weather conditions."

The 6-foot-6, 217 pound wide receiver also has an offer from Indiana and is hearing from Miami (Fla.) and Central Florida. Stacy has heard about Iowa State's new offensive coordinator Tom Herman's spread offense and feels it would be a good fit. "His offense sounds great to me," he said. "I definitely feel I could fit in with that spread offense."

Stacy says that he has been e-mailing with Coach Burnham a lot and that he will likely wait to take some visits in the fall. "I don't have any favorites at the moment," he said. "I'm just trying to find some place to play ball in college. I don't have any problems going out of state. I'm sure I'll take most of my visits after my season and then make a decision."

Robinson also plays defensive end and had seven sacks last season.
