Cyclones Target Speedy Florida Wide Receiver

Iowa State has recently offered Gibbs (FL) High School wide receiver Jarvis West. Cyclone Sports Report caught with Jarvis to see where is recruitment stands at the moment.

Cyclone Sports Report: How long has Iowa State been recruiting you?

Jarvis West: They actually started recruiting last fall and then the new staff started looking at me this spring. Coach Shane Burnham is the guy who came down and saw me.

CSR: What other schools have offered you besides Iowa State?

JW: I also have offers from Ole Miss, Nebraska, Syracuse, Toledo, and Tulsa.

CSR: What is your current height and weight?

JW: I'm 5-foot-7 and I weigh 165 pounds.

CSR: Do have any favorites and are you planning on any visits in the next month or two?

JW: No, I don't have any favorites because I would say that I'm pretty open right now. I hoping to take visits to all or most of the schools that have offered me. Then I'll likely make my decision in the fall when I'm done with those visits.

CSR: What is your current forty time?

JW: I ran a 4.3 and a 4.38 this summer.

CSR: Along with playing wide receiver do you also return kicks?

JW: Yeah, last year I had two kick returns for touchdowns and three punt returns for touchdowns.

CSR: Do you know any player at Iowa State?

JW: Yeah, I know Leonard Johnson because I played against him in high school and we have always stayed in touch.

CSR: Is he hoping that you will join him at Iowa State?

JW: I know he wouldn't mind me going there but he's not pressuring me to. We talked this summer and he was just telling me about college life and how at Iowa State if you make a lot of plays that you will really get known as a player by the fans.
