The 6-foot-5, 220-pound defensive end has offers from Iowa State, Kentucky, UCF, Purdue, FIU, Indiana, FAU, Iowa, Cincinnati, and Colorado State. He only played part of last season but still was able to catch the eye of many colleges. "I hurt my right quad and missed the middle six games of my season but I was able to come back and help us go all the way to the state semi-finals," he said.
Iowa State then started pursuing him during the spring. "Coach (Shane) Burnham came down and saw me at school in the spring," he said. "They offered me a scholarship a few months ago and they have been consistently sending me letters. They told me that they like me at defensive end and also tight end which is the other position that I play."
Douglas is hoping to take some visits in the fall and may wait until his season is over before he makes a final decision. "I'm wide open right now and don't really have a favorite," he said. "This month I'm going to set up some official visits but I'll probably wait until the end of the season before I pick my school. I'm just ready to concentrate on getting a state championship."
