Only Cyclone Sports Report provides you with a weekly recap of how the Iowa State commitments are doing with their season. The first two weeks for Trinity Valley (TX) Community College's Chris Young have been very impressive.

Chris Young: The Trinity Valley wide receiver has had a huge impact in both games that his team has played to start the season. In their opener, Young had 6 catches and 88 yards in a 27-13 victory over Dodge City Junior College and then this past weekend his 70 yard touchdown catch helped blow open their game against Cisco Junior College which ended in a 41-14 victory.

Jared Barnett: Jared helped lead Garland (TX) High School to a 60-7 victory over Kimble High School in which he only played one series during the second half due to the blowout. During his limited time, he was 14-19 for 186 yards, 3 touchdowns, and no interceptions. He also rushed for 27 yards and 2 touchdowns. Jared told Cyclone Sports Report that he will likely take his official visit November 7th for the Oklahoma State game.

Ricky Howard: The Chaffey (CA) College tight end had a solid first game catching three balls for 40 yards and one touchdown in helping them to a 17-12 victory over Mt.San Jacinto. Ricky also informed Cyclone Sports Report that he will be heading to Ames for his official visit on October 16th for the Baylor game.

Durrell Givens: The Chaffey (CA) College safety also helped out in the 17-12 victory by making six tackles and having one pass break-up. He told Cyclone Sports Report that he is still in constant contact with Coach Ash and Coach Rhoads and that he will be joining his JC teammate in Ames on October 16th for his official visit.

This past weekend was a completely different story as the Iowa City (IA) West High School offensive tackle helped lead the way to a 35-33 victory over Waterloo West as his blocking helped them rush the ball for 385 yards on 50 carries. Jacob told Cyclone Sports Report that he is very excited to be taking an unofficial visit up to Ames for the Iowa game.

T.J. McCullough: The North Marion (FL) High School cornerback played well but his team loss a tough opener 34-33 to Saint Augustine. He told Cyclone Sports Report that they only threw one ball his way so he was limited to only one pass break-up but he did add eight tackles.

Kirby Van Der Kamp: The West Des Moines (IA) Valley punter has punted seven times in two games and has a 39.0 yard average so far. Valley won their opener 56-7 over Sioux City West but then suffered a tough loss to Dowling 54-14 this past weekend.
