Hubert Enjoys Visit Despite The ISU Loss

Houston (TX) Eisenhower High School's Cqulin Hubert is having a great trip in Ames despite a tough loss by the Cyclones today.

"This weekend has been great so far," said Hubert. "It was a tough loss but I'm having a great time. I've never seen an atmosphere like this and I just loved the fans. I really liked getting to watch the spirit walk because when the little kids slapped the players hands they looked like heroes."

The 6-foot-1, 215-pound linebacker told Cyclone Sports Report a month ago that he had already verbally committed to Iowa State but that he still wanted to go on a visit before things became official. So was he ready to make his commitment official this weekend?

"I'm not sure about it being completely official this weekend but it could happen in the next few weeks," said Hubert. "I just really like their defensive scheme but I feel that they need to be a little more physical and I know that I can bring that to Iowa State."

Cqulin also really enjoyed getting to meet with the Iowa State coaches and some of the Cyclone players. "I got to hang out with most of the coaches and I just really like how they treat you like family," he said.

"I also got to go to the linebacker and special teams meetings and so I got to meet a lot of the players. They were all real cool guys and a lot of fun to hang out with."
